Inspiration abounded at the recent launch of Living On Purpose, the new book by author, speaker, image specialist and actress Petra Laranjo. As “The Key to Change Your Life And Impact Others”, the book incorporates interviews and insights from 50 global influencers who share their journeys to living on purpose and making a difference in the lives of others. With a foreword by A-List Hollywood actor Ray Stevenson, it promises to be a superb read.
Held at the secluded, award-winning Cabanga Conference Centre in Johannesburg, the launch objective was not only to bring together an exceptional group of people, but also to raise funds and awareness for PETS JHB Township Rescue and the Faces of Hope Foundation, through sales of the book. We were delighted to capture the event in still images and video on behalf of Petra, including highlights such as her book signing:
Koo Govender, group CEO for brand experience agency VWV, opened proceedings, saying that she connected with Petra’s “spirit for philanthropy and making a real difference in community”. Referring to Living On Purpose as her “Corporate Toolkit”, Koo keeps a copy on her desk to reference during challenging scenarios. Her message to other senior leaders is to share the book with their teams, as it will “equip, enable and empower” them.
Further insight and endorsement followed from Pepe Marais, co-founder and chief creative officer of advertising group Joe Public United, who went on to commend Petra for “stepping forward out of the comfort zone of just being a human and doing something amazing”. In his position “as a person who deals with putting pen to white space every day” he saluted her for taking up the challenge of writing Living On Purpose.
Here is our video of this fabulous event, featuring plenty of inspiration, as well as great music by Croonerville:
A number of additional celebrities and social influencers are lending their support to the global #JustOneThing campaign, which Petra has launched in conjunction with the book in order to encourage others to “do just one thing every day to uplift the life of another – be it human, animal or our planet”. Sincere congrats to her for leading the way! To view more photos, you’re welcome to browse our Launch Guests, Cabanga and Croonerville albums.
